How Jeannette Slavinski’s Journey Inspires Authenticity and Humanitarianism
Jeannette started her career as a speech and drama teacher and has poured her heart into the arts and helping others. In 2013, Jeannette received a Humanitarian Award in Los Angeles, on the same stage as where the Oscars ceremony takes place. She had the opportunity to share the stage at the United Nations with Congresswoman Diane Watson which only strengthened her belief in resolving issues through diplomacy. Her unexpected shift from the arts to a leadership role has been both surprising and fulfilling, proving that she can adapt and thrive no matter the situation.
One aspect of her work is “The Naked Goddess Anthologies”, 4 books inspired by her admiration for Clint Eastwood’s humanitarian efforts. “He’s very mindful of humanitarian efforts, which sits extremely well with my idealism”. These anthologies have received great recognition and they serve to connect communities across the globe, including schools in the US, UK and Africa. Jeannette’s recent invitation to Jerusalem reflects the far-reaching impact of her work.
Jeannette’s journaling of her beautiful stay at Clint Eastwood’s home in Carmel inspired her own poem, You Raise Me Up, written about Clint and her stay. Her poem initiated The Naked Goddess project, a series of 4 anthologies for the people, by the people, in support of Help for Heroes and Wounded Warriors Project.
Jeannette loves to share the story behind the title. For her, the word “naked” represents being natural and raw, stripped of pretence and embracing authenticity. “If you break it down, ‘goddess’ has two parts,” she explains. “The ‘God’ part is masculine, and the ‘ess’ is feminine. Put them together, and you get a beautiful representation of balance.” In this way, The Naked Goddess becomes a celebration of both raw truth and the harmony between masculine and feminine energies, encouraging readers to embrace their own authenticity while exploring deeper themes of identity and connection.

In 2022, Jeannette became the deputy mayoress of Stockport, a town in the Northwest of England, as deputy to Mayor David Wilson, and in 2023 she held the role of mayoress. During this time, she displayed her dedication to service by organizing events like an Easter tea party for Ukrainian refugees in the mayor’s parlour.
Jeannette touches on imposter syndrome with how crazy it is for her to go from receiving awards in LA to being Stockport’s First Citizen!
In addition to her many accomplishments, Jeannette has faced her share of challenges. She recalls a time when she was accused of having plastic surgery due to a noticeable scar on her face when appearing on Come Dine with Me. The truth behind the scar is that it resulted from her battle with a tumour, which required 17 stitches. As a passionate supporter of cancer causes, Jeannette uses her experience to raise awareness and advocate for those affected by the disease.
Throughout the years, Jeannette has always been passionate about supporting various charitable causes, not just her work with Help for Heroes and the Wounded Warriors Project. She has lent her support to many different charities, including those focused on dementia, an issue close to her heart due to her personal experiences with her mother. This journey touched so many lives that it even went viral, showcasing the connection between personal stories and advocacy.
Jeannette has a heartfelt message that she shares with everyone she meets, regardless of their status or role. At the core of her philosophy is a simple reminder: “Be grateful for each breath we take”. She believes that when we speak or share our ideas, it should come from a place of compassion and humanity. “That’s all I can offer,” she says, hoping to inspire others to think about the impact of their words and actions.

Her mantra is one that resonates with many, “I believe there’s a poem in the heart of everybody.” For Jeannette, this poem can look different for each person; maybe it’s a prayer, a song or just a feeling waiting to be expressed. She encourages everyone to tap into that creativity and share it with the world. After all, it’s about finding and expressing that unique voice, and doing so with kindness and authenticity.
As Jeannette looks ahead, she’s thrilled to share that The Naked Goddess 5 is in the works for next year. Her main goal is to spread love and kindness to hearts and minds everywhere. To make this happen, she’s inviting poetry lovers from all over the globe to join in and share their poems about love and war. With this project, Jeannette hopes to spark a global conversation that brings people together and encourages understanding and compassion in a world that can sometimes feel a bit divided.
